| That is the phrase Nancy Pelosi has been uttering
since the Democratic party decided that surrender was much easier than
victory. If she really believes that she and the rest of the New French
Military are doing the business of the American people she should check
her notes... I don't remember any candidates in 2006 pledging to immediately call for a withdraw. In fact the party line was to call for a new direction. Now that's interesting because for four years the Democrats claimed the President had no plan for Iraq. So basically The Democrats in 2006 were promising a new plan from the plan Bush apparently never had. Not to mention in 2004 John Kerry claimed Bush had no plan for Iraq but criticized his plan for a draft. We are still waiting for the draft that never happened. Which was a plan for Iraq even though Bush never had plan according to the Left. I have a few questions for Madame Pelosi... 1)How do you know you are doing the will of the American people if you did not tell the American people you were going to do? You promised a direction to the direction you say Bush never had. You never mentioned surrender. 2)If you are doing the will of the American people then why are the approval ratings for your party in the 30's? Your Congress is polling lower than the GOP majority last year. Promoting criminals and your big jet may have something to do with it. 3) If you are doing the will of the American people then why are the Republicans polling fairly well? If you were elected to do what the GOP was not doing than why are they polling comparatively? your party should be trouncing them. And speaking of the Republican party why is Fred Thompson, who has not been in the senate in four years and not in the presidential race getting all the press? Hillary has become a second tier candidate compared to Thompson. Yet she spends he days not explaining her Iraq Vote while Thompson Plays a DA on TV and everyone takes him more seriously. 4) And last but not least if the American people want an end to the Iraq war then why have you not cut funding? You have that power. it's your constitutional right. Harry Ried declared we have lost and you all backed him. So why are you sacrificing another soldier if you have the power to stop it? it does not say much for your financial acumen when you vote to throw away 100's of billions of dollars into something that is already lost. The problem is that you say one thing and do something entirely different. If you say the war is lost then you must legislate if the war is lost. In other words show some guts and do as you say. -Bert |
