WHO'S IN CHARGE HERE?

As the president gears up to deliver his annual State of the Union Address, liberals are gearing up to dispute every line except "My fellow Americans".  And they'd prefer it if that line read "My fellow Frenchmen".  For the past several days liberals have practically been tripping over one another to be the first to denounce the president's words before they've even been spoken.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has finally admitted that "the president is the commander in chief.  We don't have the authority" to execute a plan with regard to Iraq.  this from the same people who recently sent a letter to the president demanding that he withdraw troops from Iraq.  At least they're beginning to understand the balance of power in Washington.  Still, they might benefit from a quick remedial political science course (hell, even a refresher in 7th grade social studies would be an improvement).

And now they're demanding bipartisanship on the part of the president.  What for?  They already have control of the House and the Senate, and their "first 100 hours" was anything but bipartisan.  Liberals are real big on "bipartisanship", as long as it doesn't require the same effort on their part.  The only time they're ever willing to reach across the isle is to bitch-slap their opposition.

And there's where the problem lies.  They still see conservatives as their only opposition.  As far as liberals are concerned there are no terrorists, just "insurgents".  They have no investment in a U.S. victory in Iraq, their only investment is in the Democratic party.  And in their view, Iraq is Bush's war , and a loss in Iraq is a loss for Bush.  And as long as Bush looks bad the liberals win.  Never mind the fact that we are literally in a fight for our lives.  Victory is our only option.  The liberals have no plan for victory, only retreat.
