WHOOPS IRAQ...

They never saw it coming did they? This good news not being reported has taken the Democrats by surprise. and not only by surprise but at the worst possible time. But before we go any farther I have to hash out exactly why the Democrats are surprised. Surprised that a large increase in troops would produce results. Two years prior they were screaming for the increase in soldiers so they are either really stupid or politically disingenuous.

Now they are quickly trying to learn another dance and so far they are failing. They can't admit there is real success when just a few weeks ago they called Petraeus a liar. Of course that does not stop Mrs. Clinton though..."Our troops are the best in the world; if you increase their numbers they are going to make a difference," She said recently. Well pardon me while I adjust my suspension of disbelief... They also cannot continue to claim there is no success. Well at least the ones who have a real shot at the nomination. Edwards has as much chance to get the Democratic nomination as Ronald Reagan. Dennis Kucinich is really running for Governor of Andromeda. Bill Richardson is working overtime to be Hillary Clintons Bitch and the rest of the back benchers are not worth mentioning.

Obama wants to pull out, Keep troops in past 2013, invade Pakistan, and have a tea party in Tehran. SO far I have yet to hear him admit the progress that is being made.

However you can never say that the Democrats are without a game plan. In order to avoid having to say that Iraq is a lost cause they trot out Retired Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez. On the weekly Democratic radio address no less. "It is well past time to adopt a new approach in Iraq that will improve chances to produce stability in the Middle East," he said. "I urge our political leaders to put aside partisan considerations and unite to lessen the burden our troops and their families have been under for nearly five years.". Of course the idea is that the right will not impugn General Sanchez because he is a Military man. Well we don't have to. All that has to be done is point out that the strategy General Sanchez criticizes is the one he was in charge of. He was in charge when the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal broke and he was the man with the plan when the insurgency took control. So we are not to believe General Petraeus when he sits in front of a bi partisan congressional committee involving the strategy he has implemented but have to believe General Sanchez when he bashes a strategy he is no part of and appears on the Democratic radio address?

What are the Democrats going to do when the general election season rolls around? They can't pledge to pull the troops out within 100 days of his or her administration when the New York Times, earlier in the day ran a front page story of more surge success. This raises another point. How will they satiate the KOS crowd? Now that the crown prince of Left wing buffoonery is writing for Newsweek he has been given credibility, and a mainstream national audience. he only position so far has been get out of Iraq now. He has also been giving the candidates campaign advice through his column: It's still all about Bush. The left seems to be listening since they cannot begin a sentence without saying "well the Bush Administration....". Every time the do a Fred Asatire when asked about Iraq he and his minions of stupidity will eviscerate them the next day.

They have put themselves in a no win situation by calling Iraq a no win situation. Americans like winners. That may be one of the reasons the left is beginning to sweat.
