Pelosi is losing it, well
half of the of the Democratic party is losing it. Another quater is
following like the little lambs they are, and the other quater are holding
on for dear life. The Left has failed at every attempt to bring down the
Bush administration. Notice I said "Bring down". They have no plans of
their own. No vision. Hell, Howard Dean even said "it is not our job to
give out specifics".They can't win on issues so they will try to win by
impeaching Bush and arresting everyone else from the janitor to the house
speaker.
"Bush Lied" has lost steam so they have now moved on to "the war is unwinnable" Perhaps that might do the job. We'll never know. And along comes Joey.... Fresh from his trip to Iraq Joe Leiberman came not with a portfolio of pictures with troops or of him looking thoughtfully at maps or even of him shaking hands with the wounded. No he came with a simple message. "we are winning" Damn! call 911 Harry Ried just had another stroke. So, one of their own completely destroyed their entire argument. What do you do? Ignore it of course. Why not? the media ignored Lieberman's assesment so why not the Democrats? Why not Nazi Pelosi? She held a news conference yesterday to respond to the Presidents Speech on Iraq. Lets have a look quote by qoute “What we heard today was a
commitment to the status quo – a status quo that is not
working.
Your very distinguished collegue Senator Leiberman just, 24 hours ago said just the opposite. “The ‘Plan for Victory’
backdrop against which the President appeared at the Naval Academy today
was no more accurate than the ‘Mission Accomplished’ backdrop he used over
two and a half years ago on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
“The President did not
have a plan for victory when he went into his war of choice in Iraq, and
he did not have a plan for victory today.
I guess you did not get the 37 page Plan for Iraq the administration released on the heels of his speech “The American people
expected that the President would do more today than just put a new cover
and 35 pages of rhetoric on old sound bites. What the American people
wanted from the President today was some evidence that he has heard their
concerns.
Oh you have seen it? good. “Clearly, the President
fails to understand that a new course is needed in Iraq. The President has
dug us into a deep hole in Iraq; it is time for him to stop
digging.
Again your esteemed collegue Mr. Leiberman has just returned from Iraq and said things are working. Not to mention two elections, 14 of 18 provinces secure, a constitution and just the other day another top terrorist killed. “He offered a status quo
plan that would not accelerate the training of Iraqi security forces,
would not motivate Iraqis to assume security responsibilities more quickly
and bring American troops home.
You do not hurry along training when it involves a language barrier and large guns “Instead, he suggested
that we send more troops and spend more money in Iraq. That is not what
the American people want.
Actually he said if the General need more troops they'll get more troops. We leave those decisions to those that are there. “The President says that
the security situation in Iraq is getting better. But just because the
President says it, does not make it so.
So do most generals and of course Senator Joe Leiberman. You do remember him Ms. Pelosi? “226 American soldiers
have been killed in Iraq in just the last three months. The Generals have
told us that the presence of large numbers of U.S. forces in Iraq
encourages the insurgents. The President provided no specifics on how, or
when, the number of troops will be reduced.
So less troops will not encourage more insurgents to come into Iraq and take over?. How do you fight a war with less troops? I see you are still using troop deaths for political gain. By the way. How does one predict the out come of future battles? “With more than 2,100
American soldiers killed, thousands more wounded grievously, and hundreds
of billions of dollars spent, the President owes the American people more
than he provided today.
Like what? a step by step plan on how to fight battles? I doubt that the Generals would be happy about announcing battle plans. When the insurgents are defeated and the Iraqis are able to stand on their own. that is the plan. Want more? ask the Iraqis. “We should follow the lead
of Congressman John Murtha, who has put forth a plan to make America
safer, to make our military stronger, and to make Iraq more stable. That
is what the American people and our troops deserve.”
three weeks ago you distanced yourself from his comments. Now you would rather support him in a plan for utter defeat then Joe Leiberman who has just returned and says we are actually making major progress? Pelosi went on to refer to the booklet about the plan for Iraq as "warmed up stew" and "old sound bytes". When asked if she actually read the booklet she replied "No"... -Bert |
