The Far
left groups really are the gift that keeps on giving. Their vice like grip
on the Democrat's collective testicles is slowly but surely assuring a
Republican victory come November. The DNC have been gladly accepting fringe money for a few years now and the fringe donors are now demanding results for their contributions else they will not receive any more money for the next election and with Howard Dean squandering all but 5 million of the DNC dollars they are desperate to be pimped by the George Soros crowd. The desperation has not been more evident then the claims made by Teddy Kennedy this morning. First off it appears if Judge Alito is confirmed more children will develop Asthma. You heard me right. Because Alito sided with companies that create pollution the number of children with respitory issues will increase if he is confirmed. Of course Kennedy spent an eternity discussing landmark civil rights cases that will seem moot if he is confirmed. Apparently Alito will seek out and overturn every one of these decisions. Kennedy's biggest argument is that there hasn't been ample time to debate the nominee. The Republicans are rushing the nominee through to minimize the risk of finding at the very least a fragment of a skeleton in his closet. How much time does he want? Clarence Thomas nomination took 98 days. Justice Scalia? 91 days. O'Conner and Ginsburg? 32 and 41 respectively. Ginsburg was rushed through after only 41 days and Alito who is now at day 91 needs to be filibustered for more time to debate? They had time to debate and to ask questions but all they did was accuse him being a racist. Why do they need more time to debate when they made it quite clear how they would vote before the hearings began? If you cannot find any real evidence that Alito is a racist after 91 days you won't find it because it isn't there. The fact remains that the Senate judiciary committee sifted through 28,000 plus pages of documents and had 30 plus hours to question him proves that point John Kerry who along with Senator Kennedy just made their last ditch pleas for a filibuster explained the real reason why he should not be confirmed. He said they Senate needs to debate the ABA who gave Alito their highest rating. The need stems from their not rating him on the basis of how he will shift the court. In other words the main problem with Alito is he will shift the court to the right. Just like O'Conner, and Ginsberg shifted the court farther to the left. It's simple. If you want to nominate and confirm liberal justices then win some elections. As far as the fringe groups go, they are the only reason certain nominees are pushing for a filibuster. The Democrats need to at least show they are worth the millions they get. Unfortunately this puts them in a quandary. Because the failure of filibuster will surely make them look desperate and impotent. They are forcing some Democrats to filibuster even though Alito surely has the majority. We know Clinton, Kerry and Schumer will vote no for cloture because they are running in 2008 and desperately need the Fringe money. Kennedy? He's just pissed off he is out of Gin and off his game. We know Dick Durbin will vote no because he does what he is told. He is content to be the Senate bitch. As I write this the vote for cloture is moving forward and If it succeeds the far left blogs will be sending out some nasty and threatening emails to the poor and downtrodden Senators of the Democratic part. Either way the Alito cannot lose because Bill Frist is chomping at the bit to use the nuclear option. Then BANG! and off come the testicles. -Bert |
