So George Bush's popularity has plummeted to 34%. This has been splashed all over the internet. A CBS poll has shown that George Bush's popularity is now at an all time low and I have received countless emails from liberals trumpeting this great news. I quickly rushed to the bookcase and retrieved my copy of the constitution to see if their had been an amendment allowing George Bush to run for a third term. I found nothing to suggest that this was the case and I settled down to breakfast. Within two hours another story had begun to make it's way around the net that the CBS poll was stacked against the president. At the very bottom of the poll is the break down.... "Total Republicans" contacted: 272 unweighted and 289 weighted. "Total Democrats" contacted: 409 unweighted and 381 weighted. "Total Independents" contacted: 337
unweighted and 348 weighted. This of course did not surprise me but I
have to say that their stupidity and desperation is intriguing. How could
they think that no one would question a poll that comes in at 34% when the
most recent cook poll has Bush at 40%, Rasmussen has Bush at 43% and the
Average is 40.4% ? A slight anomaly? The CBS poll was between 6 and 9
percentage points off every other poll. What is interesting is that the
liberal forums continue to claim that the conservatives control the
mainstream media. There's Bob Schiefer claiming "There is little to
celebrate at the White House where public dissatisfaction, that began with
the handling of Hurricane Katrina, has driven President Bush's approval
ratings to an all-time low of 34 percent." and yet he never bothered to
tell the three viewers CBS has left that the poll favored Democrats. Bias?
Of course not. Does CBS actually think anyone trusts them after Memogate?
Dan Rather agreed to float forged documents in an attempt to derail George
Bush's presidential campaign. Aside from that fact the program found
nothing wrong with running a story without first checking the facts and
the veracity of the charges. Bias? Of course not! |
