There is nothing a liberal will not do to make sure we are vulnerable
to another attack. They have been caterwauling for a year about the
President Bush's illegal domestic wiretapping program. Problem is, the
program is neither illegal nor Domestic. But that is not important to
liberals because it's the truth. Anyway Judge Anna Diggs Taylor (She's
proof that Jimmy Carter is the gift that keeps on giving) ruled the
program unconstitutional in a lawsuit filed by the ACLU on behalf of
lawyers, scholars, and Greenpeace. Apparently Greenpeace was worried about
elm trees being secretly wiretapped. These scholars claim the program
makes it difficult to do their jobs. I’m curious about what their jobs are
that they need to be phoning suspected terrorists.... That's not the
point here. the point is this liberal judge didn't so much as give a
ruling based on the constitution but give a dissertation as to why the
program is bad based on the liberal distaste for George W Bush. She
also cemented her place in the new left my doing two things. Deciding that
the courts shall decide how the country is protected and not disclosing
her close association with the ACLU. We are not talking about riding her
bike past the ACLU headquarters. We are talking about $125,000 given by
her to the Michigan ACLU, the lead plaintiff in the case, and did not
disclose this apparent conflict of interest. Oops. Well it's not
important because after all liberalism is the way of the future. Even
though the vast majority of Americans do not agree with their ideology
they are determined to enforce their beliefs. Abortion, gay marriage, sex
education, the outlawing Christianity all of which the voting public has
spoken on yet the liberals have decided to use the courts to force it upon
us. The NSA program is no different. Fortunately for the sane people of
this country the Judges ruling was so ridiculous, so meandering that it
will never hold up. Even those who believe the program is unconstitutional
have panned the decision. The 44 page ruling reads, at times like a blog
from the Daily KOS rather than judicial decision.
"It was never the intent of the framers to give the president such
unfettered control, particularly where his actions blatantly disregard the
parameters clearly enumerated in the Bill of Rights," Taylor wrote in her
43-page opinion. ". . . There are no hereditary Kings in America and no
powers not created by the Constitution. So all 'inherent powers' must
derive from that Constitution."
That particular statement left
most of us scratching our heads. Even the New York Times who originally
praised the Judges ruling had to back pedal when basically every legal
mind in the country regardless of their position condemned the Judges
poorly written decision. Basically what Judge Taylor is doing
is making us less safe based on assumptions. By giving the government more
power they could use it to spy on innocent people. They
could use it to keep track of our movements, They could use
it as a stepping stone to the removals of other civil liberties. I have
yet to see any cases of this happening. I think being blown up by a
terrorist is infringing on my civil rights. Based on the Judges past
attempts to highjack cases to further her own personal agenda this was a
coordinated attempt by the left to handcuff the president in protecting
the country. The Bush Administration obviously appealed and the program is
still active. I suppose the left was scared to have the case heard in a
state that isn't stacked with dangerous liberal judges. The Liberals claim
the president is trampling on our rights but when asked if they have been
violated or if they know if anyone who has had their phone tapped they go
on a rampage where the words Nazi, and dictator are used in fast
repetition. And while they are screaming the program has prevented
disasters like the destruction of the Brooklyn bridge and the recent
foiled plot in London. Of course there are the polls the liberals always
point to. Majority of Americans do not agree with the NSA wiretapping
program. Really? I suppose it is how the question is asked. If you as
people "Do you think President Bush should be engaged in illegal domestic
wiretapping" everyone and their Uncle Erik will say no way. However if you
ask people if We should be tracking calls to and from terrorists in and
out of the country the majority of the people say yes. So you see the
people want to be protected but once again the Liberals ignore that and
try to further their dangerous vision for America. Judge Taylor is a prime
example. -Bert |
