HILLARY'S PROBLEM ISN'T OBAMA...IT'S THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS

As the media continues to elevate Barak Obama from Senator, to President, to ruler of the universe many a pundit claim Obama not only to be the new messiah but the only person in creation to defeat Senator Clinton. While Senator Clinton will undoubtedly get a pass from answering any hard questions Obama will not be so lucky. So far he has done nothing more than regurgitate DNC talking points When on the stump. He tells you what he wants but fails to tell you how he will go about doing it. A trait most politicians have. Once he has been shown to be lighter than John Edwards, Hillary's real opponent will take center stage.

Nancy Pelosi.

Hillary Clinton has spent the better part of two years trying to position herself as a moderate centrist. Annoying her party and the new left at the same time. In particular her war stance. She has danced around that with grace for 3 years. The New Democratic House threatens to derail her White house bid.

Nancy Pelosi is the most far left radical liberal in the House and she and her ultra far left companions plan to advance a liberal agenda that could put their majority and indeed Hillary's presidential campaign in jeopardy. The outcome of the 2006 elections was a win for the Moderates and the Conservatives. Pelosi's plans for Wage hikes, going after the oil companies are only the beginning. Allowing the Bush Tax cuts to expire going into the 2008 elections will be a tough issue to beat. The promise of endless hearings into the Bush Administrations policies will tire the nation quickly. Their success in the 2006 midterm election was largely a function of their best efforts to imitate Republicans. A congress that acts like Ultra Liberals will not work.

The Democrats banked on the Baker report to give them a plan for Iraq. All it did in the end was give them 275 ways to surrender. They are still without a rudder and their endless speeches on the "Failed" policies will not sate the voters. They promised a new direction. They need that direction quick.

The Congress will have do deal with Iraq a few times. When Bush asks for money to finance the war, they are likely to arrive this month and total upward of $150 billion—to the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. Whose the chairman dear reader? That's right. John Murtha. So will the man who demands we leave Iraq yesterday and claims we are losing approve 150 billion more for the war? The American people are tired of the war but want the troops well funded. Any instances of the Democrats using their well being as a bargaining chip will drastically hurt their chances in 2008. At least eight House and Senate committees will hold an array of investigative hearings on Iraq. If they come up with nothing the left is doomed in 2008.

Pelosi has built and stepped in a few of her own traps. Supporting John Murtha and Alcee Hastings was a direct reversal of her promise to "drain the swamp of corruption". To finish 4 weeks of bad decisions she is having a four day coronation for her elevation to house leader.

It won't take long to turn off the voters.

What Hillary could be faced with is a country tired of the Democrats after two years. The left will not have the luxury of having three years to turn a war around. Debating Iraq will not be enough. Hillary will have to overcome her own party to win the election.
