gun gate. Cheney gate? Anyway this situation has gone from a humorous
story of an Elmer Fudd moment to absurd when David Gregory threw a temper
tantrum and called Scott McClellan a jerk because he wasn't the very first
person notified of the situation. It then became serious when Mr.
Whittington suffered a mild heart attack. Now it has become grotesque with
the Media actually forecasting what will happen if Harry Whittington dies.
The New York Times is running stories of possible scenarios if Mr.
Whitington takes a turn for the worse. Even though he is projected to be
discharged in a week. The almost certainty of Mr. Whittington's recovery must be a bitter pill to swallow for the media. For a fraction of a second they thought they had him. they finally had Dick Cheney on something. They were heartbroken when he was not dragged into the Plame affair and of course he once ran Halliburton and that alone is punishable by death in most liberals eyes. So They had Cheney and they wanted all the answers now! Scott McClellan wasn't forthright enough and tempers flared. Now with Whittington’s recovery all but assured hundreds of "reporters" rushed off to their local church and lit candles with the fading hope Whittington will expire and Cheney as the NYT has said will have to face a grand Jury. And no one likes a grand jury better than Democrats. How many investigations do the Democrats have going now? 206? "I was short changed in the cafeteria. we need an investigation". "Where's my pen? Bush! We need an investigation!" Anyway this is becoming a conspiracy theorists dream. Larry O’Donnell said the reason when Cheney has not surfaced was because he was drunk. Facts? Paul Begala all but accused Cheney of attempted murder by saying "He knew, he knew where Whittington was" I was not aware Mr. Begala was on the hunting trip. The left wing bloggers are forwarding the theory that the Whitehouse set this up so they can get rid of Cheney and insert a VP that can run against Hillary. And my personal fave is the "accident" was a message to Scooter Libby not to testify. Ooh very Sopranos. What also makes this sick is that this the only way we can get the media to stop glorifying the deaths of our soldiers. In fact there are virtually no stories on Iraq or anything for that matter. They have missed the fact Iran has restarted it enrichment program. Al Bore once again showed us why he is an unpatriotic coward. A minor hunting accident apparently is the most important thing happening in America right now. Give me a break. Now Dick Cheney is prolonging this story by not answering questions and quite Frankly the White House has handled this badly as they often do. I expect it is because they know no matter what they say they will be portrayed as wrong. I am sure the Democrats will want Bush impeached on this as they want him impeached on everything.
