That's right dear reader. the Democratic party has discovered that the
real threat to our existence is global warming. However it's not the
"we're all going to die in ten years" theory popularized by Ted Danson and
adopted by Al Gore. It the lefts assertion that Mother nature has issued a
jihad against mankind. We have seen the Democrats affection for global
warming. Now they have found something even more important than fighting
terrorism. Sylvestre Reyes, The Democratic intelligence committee chairman explained it like this: “Climate change can have a serious impact on military operations and exacerbate global tensions,” Unfortunately he did not use this opportunity to clarify his explanation on the difference between Suni and Shia. So climate change can have a major impact on military operations. I suppose several copters crashing in a sandstorm on Jimmy Carters watch qualifies as having a major impact on military operations but usually the military simply adjust their strategy. And they don't need a focus group to do it. Further more why do we need the CIA to research Global Warming? The Department of Agriculture does not regulate interest rates, the Surgeon General does not dabble in immigration (Although C Everett koop looks like he should be deported....anywhere). Why should funding for Global warming be in a national intelligence bill? Democrats simply do not see terrorism as a threat. Ironically we have been through this before. In the 1990's with Clinton's DCI Environmental Center within the CIA and look what that led to.... I am tired of seeing Dick Durbin on the Senate floor every twenty minutes telling us we dropped the ball when it comes to getting Bin Laden. If Bin Laden is such an important issue for you why do you want the boys in intelligence pouring over satellite images of spotted owls in Canada rather than the worlds number one terrorist? -Bert |
