| Well it's not surprising
really. In reality it was a stupid platform to run on. Ending the
Republican "Culture of corruption" in Washington.. I warned a month ago that Harry Reid’s involvement with Jack Abramoff could derail the DNC's plan. Well now we don't have to wait for Dirty Harry to fall. We've got John Conyers and William Jefferson. Two incredibly unlikable people. Conyers as you know has been holding pretend impeachments in the basement of the Senate which I guess was practice for his introduction of resolution 635 or in other words another pathetic attempt to impeach George Bush. He may have bigger things to worry about, like some ethics concerns. It appears that Mr. Conyers does not value women too highly. In fact they re nothing more than domestics to him. Not one but three former aides have filed complaints with the ethics board citied being assigned duties such as chauffeuring and tutoring Mr. Conyers children. This was done on government time and is illegal. This cannot look well to women voters. Three women who are educated and experienced are looked upon as nothing more than domestic help. A bit chauvinistic I think. And then of course there is everybody's Fave Democrat from Louisiana William Jefferson...There is something about that name that attracts corruption. not only had commandeered National Guard vehicles and personnel to drive him to his New Orleans home and assist him in removing personal items after the hurricane. He is also under investigation by the Dept. of Justice for possible bribery involving business in Africa. Anyway this upstanding Democrat chairs the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and has raised more than 400,000 dollars for hurricane relief. None of this money has yet to be dispersed. And they complain George Bush acted slow? Now Jefferson claimed the money had been distributed in December but apparently the truth is the only group that the CBCF has distributed money to is another group with close ties to Rep. William Jefferson. There are now charges of a conflict of interest against the congressmen. Harry Ried has been quiet on the subject of corruption in recent weeks. it may be because of his close ties with Abramoff. At this point it does not matter. With these Democrats dropping like flies the lefts platform goes from "Culture of Republican corruption" to "Vote for us, were not as corrupt as them." The liberal blogshere points out that the Abramoff scandal will be the Republicans down fall and that it is mostly a Republican issue. I say it does not matter because the voting public on both sides of the aisle see all politicians as corrupt. Their polls are lower than the Presidents so to continue to run on a corruption platform is stupid. Especially if the Abramoff probe does not yield results in the next eight months. -Bert |
