It would
be really ignorant and quite arrogant to ignore the Republicans troubles.
And troubles I might add they brought on themselves. The whole Abramoff
scandal is really not as big as the Democrats are making it out to be
after all it is an election year. The Real problem with the Republicans is
that they have forgotten their core conservative values. Two of them are
big governments and spending we need to hold them accountable for their
complacency and to a lesser extent lack of ethics. Back to the Abramoff scandal. Yes some Republicans will fall and good. Some Democrats will fall. Good. However I have to admit that the Left has a big advantage here and they can use it to their advantage. But they have to do one thing... Get a grip. There is talk of Bush breaking the law with the warantless wire tapping. There is Bob Ney stepping down, Tom Delay will not seek his seat again. Bill Frist is under investigation. All this in an election year. This should be good news for the Democrats but they will not change their tactics. Instead of the Mainstream Media covering all these Republican problems they are instead covering the most recent gaffs by the Left. Let's take a look. We'll start with Al Gore's speech yesterday. Accusing the Bush Administration of breaking the law with these wiretaps is not a big deal. It is however when Al Gore does it because he and BJ Bill did the same thing, The program was called Echelon. Not did they conduct warrantless wiretapping but they searched convicted spy Aldrich Ames home without a judges permission. So if there was any truth to the original charge the blow has been softened because we Conservatives simply point to the facts. Hillary too gave a speech in which she likened the white house to a plantation. A gamble since she had a lot to lose and little to gain. I say little because she was speaking in Harlem and would get the majority of the votes anyway but to use the occasion which was Martin Luther King's birthday to stir up racial tension is simply abhorrent. Gore and Hillary used a national holiday, one which was to honor a civil rights activist to gain political points. Regardless Gore came off sounding like a hypocrite and Hillary came off sounding condescending by using the plantation metaphor to a black audience. And then there is the Judicial Hearings. Samuel Alito could have appeared drunker than Ted Kennedy waving a banner that said "I'm an idiot and I hate minorities" and he would have still come off looking better that the Democrats. First off they showed they had no grasp of the constitution or law in general. Dick Durbin said this;""I'm concerned that many people will leave this hearing with a question as to whether or not you could be the deciding vote that would eliminate the legality of abortion, that would make it illegal in this country." Okay. I'm not a lawyer and never played one on television but I do know this; If Roe is overturned the states are then free to make the law as they see fit. No federal ban and no back alley abortions. What Dickie did was attempt to scare the populace but even the casual observer knows the truth. Teddy Kennedy...where do I begin? First of all his lack of preparation was breathtaking. If he was forced to veer off script he was dead in the water and I was so entertained when he demanded subpoenas for records pertaining toCAP when little old Bert Spivey, your MacGyver of Webmaster already knew that the records in question were already a matter of public record...and then he proceeded to get bitch slapped by Arlen Specter. Teddy Kennedy tried his best to paint Alito a racist and now it has been revealed that he to was a member of college club that was discriminatory. Except the difference between Alito and Kennedy is Alito was never an active member and there is no records of him participating. Meanwhile Kennedy is not only a member still. And this group. The Owl club was booted off campus back in 1985. And to make matters worse his pathetic, idiotic excuse was this; "I'm not a member but I pay membership dues". ?????? Can you remember what the Republicans are doing? That proves my point. The Democrats continue to make news and overshadow what they are going to use as their platform. What this does is give the Republicans space to repair their image but how much repair will be needed if the Democrats continue to pull these stunts? The Republicans need to do a lot of reforming but the Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot every day. The Judicial hearings told us more about the incompetence of the left than Alito himself. One more thing; other than what the Republicans are doing wrong, what is the Democrats Agenda? Ten months and counting... -Bert |
