It seems that whenever the Democrats announce anything they leave a trail of confusion and dazed expressions. When the Democrats announce a plan for the Iraq war they have to hand out cliff notes. When they announce a timetable the reporters have to ask "what decade?" I suppose this is why the prefer to restrict their statements to criticizing the president and calling for investigations into everything from Bush's untidy sock drawer to the Attorney General firings. Anything more in depth leaves them stuttering and drooling all over themselves.

Well they have conquered the US now they aim to take their act on the road.

Nancy Pelosi, the strangely creepy Tom Lantos and a token Republican decided they could suddenly create mid east peace out of thin air. So they boarded the taxpayer funded Botox one and left for the region ignoring the fact that the president of the United States told her not to go. It took roughly 24 hours for her to make a mess and further damage her reputation.

Now the Olmert government in Israel has approval ratings of nil. So the sight of Nancy Pelosi walking up the garden path in a head scarf must have sent his heart plunging deeper into his bowels.

Pelosi's meeting with Olmert was so successful that before she got to the garden gate on her way out Olmert had already put out a press release stating he message was not the message he gave her. Olmert told her Israel would sit down for peace talks with Syria when they cease funding and support of Hamas and Hezbollah. Telling President Assad that Israel was ready to sit down is not the same thing. Before her meeting with The Syrian president came to a close she was already looking like a fool. Holding a press conference afterwards claiming to have made headway in the pursuit of peace after Olmert had already contradicted her left a lot of people shaking their heads.

Why Nancy Pelosi? What makes her think that she can create peace in the Middle East out of thin air? Carter and his cardigan couldn't. Neither could Bill Clinton, Condoleezza Rice or Madeline Albright couldn't either..

It wasn't about furthering The Bush Administrations foreign policy or creating peace in the Mid East. it's about embarrassing George Bush. But in typical Democrat fashion they botched it. Now Pelosi talking about a second trip to Syria. Why am I not surprised? Every entertain show has an even better second act.
