It took a moderate Republican to show the insanely weak
and vapid GOP how to rally the Conservative base and invigorate the party.
Pick a pro life, pro gun, pro business, pro ethics reform, pro energy,
staunch Catholic with family values to run as Vice President. In other
words John McCain chose someone ten times more Conservative than he is.
Who thought he had it in him? Seven days prior there were strong winds
blowing that he would pick Joe Lieberman. A patriot and a statesman but a
pro choice liberal ex-Democrat. The voters fretted, the Conservative media
threatened, the Democrats prayed and the MSM sneered. At the end of the
day John McCain chose a social and economic conservative. By ten that
evening he apparently raked in 4 million that day. The party as a whole is
now energized, not just a little relieved and ready to fight. Nothing
rallies the Conservative base like doing something rare and choosing a
Conservative to run. And he didn't damage his "Maverick" status by picking
a true Conservative. He reinforced it.
And she's a
woman.
Oh yeah. if you didn't know already her name is Sarah
Palin. She's 44, married with five children and plans to carry on where
Geraldine Ferraro left off. Along the way she plans to capture a portion
of the 18 million Hillary supporters. How large a portion is still an
unknown but her strong personality and accomplishments will seem
attractive to many Democrat women. Even a handful of the rabid baby
killing NARAL types. Looks like John McCain will help the Democrats dream
of breaking that glass ceiling.
So who's about
change?
Barrack Obama's meteoric rise from alphabetizing Chicago
streets to a part time US Senator to Democratic nominee has been built
around his "transformational" message. A new kind of politics. When
Barrack Obama is not attacking John McCain he practices the new kind of
politics. When he is not advocating the decades old liberal policies he is
talking about new and fresh ideas. To solidify his claims of being for
change he chose Joe Biden. The balding, plagiarizing Senator first elected
to office during the Nixon years. That is change you can believe in. That
is change that sounds a lot like every Democrat candidate since
1968.
Sarah Palin is not from Washington D.C.. In fact she is not
from the continental United States. Although born in Idaho she was raised
in Alaska and has served in public office there for thirteen years. Along
the way she took on the corrupt Republican establishment and won. Obama
took on a corrupt developer in Chicago and acquired a house from him for
pennies on the dollar.
All this explains the liberals rabid
response to her. She stole the attention, exemplifies what Obama tries to
portray, and has awakened the party. They will try to destroy her. But she
is way too tough for them.
