MITT ROMNEY FINDS HIS VOICE
01/17/2008

Governor Romney's decisive win in Michigan has given him the legitimacy he's been lacking since he jumped into the deep end of the Presidential campaign. Voters have been indifferent to Romney's message. Seeing him more of a well constructed talking head rather than something more genuine. Romney's decision to focus on the economy for the Michigan primary resulted in a shift in tone from polished and professional to a more natural, positive message.

Romney is a venture capitalist, and a very successful one. So it stands to reason he would seem more comfortable talking about how to revitalize the economy rather than abortion. Romney knows how to make money and he understands how to jump start a failing economy so it's no wonder he sounds positive and upbeat. Then again it hard not to top John McCain’s "the lost jobs were gone forever, and Michiganders needed to think harder about worker retraining". Romney is showing us that a positive message works. And having ideas on how to help the Michigan economy doesn't hurt either. His plan to block government imposed fuel efficiency standards brought a smile to the face of Detroit’s auto trade as well as small government Conservatives..

He's hitting his stride now and with the economy taking center stage over Iraq Romney may have found the vehicle he needs to overtake Senator McCain.
