WHY FRED WON'T

If Fred Thompson listened to...well everybody he would
have dropped out 6 minutes after he jumped in. he's tired, he does not
have fire in his belly, he does not want to be president, he is asleep, he
does not watch American Idol etc. All the while Senator Thompson's
argument is that he is simply the most Conservative of all the
candidates.
Thompson's plan has been to let the fickle Conservative
base have a look at the candidates. In a way it has worked. Rudy was
running away with the nomination at the beginning. As his record was
combed through he appeals to Conservatives dwindled. Before Rudy there was
Mitt. mitt was the man. Though once his record and past statements about
abortion were made public he too dropped in the polls. The new flavor of
the month is Mike Huckabee and he is sharing the bowl with John McCain.
both have issues with immigration, tax cuts and spending. Fred Thompson
has since South Carolina put his record on display against theirs. On
paper and in person Thompson is far more Conservative than either.
Thompson his banking on this message getting out there when it comes to
the big delegate states starting with Florida.
This election will
be different from the past. The public is truly fed up with Washington. In
1994 the public had had enough of the Democrats and threw them out. The
GOP decided early on to waste a golden opportunity to make real changes.
by 2006 the public had not only had enough but were simply tired. This
election will be about the issues. Core issues. Although they have changed
over the years the election will be a choice. Do the voters want a liberal
policy or a Conservative policy. Thomson is banking on the Conservative
base, and the independents to place his record alongside the others and
spot the difference.
