It looks like the Obama Magical Mystery Mini Van is still on cruise control with the driver stuck in the lav. Barrack Obama’s biggest issue aside from is lack of experience at anything beyond stagecraft is he is seen as an elitist. This of course solidified when he spoke in California about Middle America's gun and religion issues. The man has tried desperately to dampen down these opinions by portraying himself as a Greek God at the DNC Convention, and more recently offering Obama T-shirts portraying him as some sort of savior...For a price of course...

So here we are in a week where we saw another financial giant go under and the stock market take a major dive. Obviously the Middle American voter is worried about their future. What does the Savior for a Donations do to show these average Americans he feels their pain? He goes back to Beverly hills for a celebrity saturated $28,500 dollar a plate fundraiser. Meanwhile down in the factory in Cleveland...

Is it any wonder that McCain has taken a modest lead in Ohio? In fact look at Pennsylvania. Obama has gone from 5 point AVG. lead to statistical tie. Those pesky Middle American voters just don't feel connection. Can you blame them? When you are worried about being able to continue to put food on your table, a candidate that rages about the terrible economy and then runs off to the safe and secure fantasy land of Beverly Hills to charge plastic people in designer suits $28,500 to eat at a dinner table probably made of Gold you tend to lose a little faith.

Every campaign has person who from time to time puts up his hand and says " Yeah about that idea you had...". That person is either dead or Obama's ego is indeed that large where he feels he doesn't need to listen to anybody. Except Michelle Obama of course. He might be arrogant be he ain’t that stupid. So I suppose the question is why? Why after a month where you raked in 66 million you needed to risk a lot of credibility in order to take in an additional 9 million?

I have two theories...

The Obama campaign has broken all fundraising records and has bested McCain's efforts every month. yet for all his capital he remains statistically tied with Senator McCain. He feels he needs every penny he can get his little Socialist hands on. With less than two months left before election day he can't afford to focus on the factory worker who can only manage 15 dollars. He needs to hit up the elites in Hollywood who can afford 28,500.

My second theory is that Obama simply needed the ego fix. Hundreds of elitists fawning over him. telling him of awesome he is. After Leonardo Di Caprio's "gee you're really super Mr. Gore" speech last year I would not be surprised if he didn't offer to have Barracks baby. This is his scene and after several brutal weeks where he lost all his steam and see the Republican party not only revitalized but steal the momentum and attention away from him. He went from being a rock star to Sarah Palin's roadie. If anyone needed an ego boost it was Senator Obama.

He may be feeling more like the messiah thanks to Hollywood but it may have cost him the battle ground votes.
