How often do you buy the first house
you come across? How often do you waltz onto a car lot hand the guy in the
bad suit $85,000 and say I will take whatever you have for $85,000? You
don't. people want to know what they are getting for their investment, The
smart shopper is going to look long and hard before purchasing. Maybe
changing their mind once or twice.
Why should the Presidential
election be any different?
I am certain that if I took a drive down
the freeway I would see a long line of broken down cars on the side of the
road and pundit after political pundit with head buried under the hood
wondering what the hell went wrong and what the hell they have bought.
After the first car lot they stepped foot onto-Iowa, they decided that the
Fred Thompson 4000 was not for them, and the Rudy Giuliani and John McCain
models were not what they were looking for. Heading towards New Hampshire
the Mike Huckabee with the leather interior and Bucket seats they were
test driving was giving off the feeling that it would not be that good on
gas. Suddenly the McCain model was looking better to them. The body is a
bit dated but it looked strong on the outside. One has to wonder if the
engine will last. Heading to a dealership in Florida they are taking a
second look at the Romney, and the Giuliani models and I think there might
be a Thompson 4000 in the garage getting a much needed overhaul.
I
can't understand why the media expects the country to make up it's mind
after five events. this is a rather large decision and you cannot simply
trade it in either. The Conservative base has been slowly scrutinizing
each candidates record. No candidate is a perfect Conservative so the
voters have to be careful who they choose. the idea that the GOP is
fractured because no clear front runner has emerged is pure bollocks. if
you want a fracture look at the Democrats charging each other with being
racist. That is usually a charge saved for the Republicans and it is quite
amusing to see the liberals use it on each other.
Meanwhile the
Republican base is still browsing the manual and deciding which candidate
has just the right options. Mitt Romney with his financial sense and
leather interior, Rudy with his strong leadership but weak gearbox, and
Mike Huckabee with his Strong religious values and his fuel economy. I
like an informed consumer.
